Salt Wash Process
'Salt Wash' was the starting point for the Pre Fall / Winter 21 season. Inspired by vibrant, colorful salt ponds that can be seen as you approach the Bay Area by plane, we wanted to see how the idea of salt could effect clothing, and serve as a lens for a collection. For inspiration, we headed to the desert, where residue from salt mines transferred to our clothing, shoes, car, and floor mats. A lightbulb went off.
This development is focused on two categories that are core to our line: Jersey and fleece. Made start to finish in Los Angeles, the program consists of four silhouettes: Beach Hoodie, Lucky Pocket Tee, Rodeo Tee, and our newest short, similar in fit to AAU.
Each product is finished by hand with a mineral spray. From a distance the look is chalky and faded, but as you get closer, thousands of individual particles become visible. No two pieces are the same.
