On Tuesday, May 21st we celebrated the continuation of our partnership with LeBron James and Nike through a party at our Melrose Flagship in West Hollywood. The design inspiration behind the Nike LeBron James x John Elliott Icon in all black was utilized for a visual display takeover of the store’s façade and interior. Pulling references from the transparent paneled layers in the Icon’s upper, the sneakers were showcased in a multi-layered glass, mirror, and neon cube installation.


It was LeBron’s inimitable will and superhuman talent that originally led John to draw inspiration from the metaphor of a spillway, the structure that controls and forcefully disperses water from a dam. This image of water being released from a spillway — a force of nature — was projected throughout the space. The store’s facade, normally covered in white technical fabric, was blacked out along with the windows in reference to the stealth black tones of the new colorway.


Event attendees included: Lebron James, Tristan Thompson, Jasmine Tookes, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Maverick Carter, Rich Paul, Randy Mims, Scooter Braun, Don C, Ibn Jasper, Jerry Lorenzo, Rhuigi Villaseñor, Chris Gibbs, Dr. Woo, Jon Buscemi, Joe Perez, Zack Bia, Mobolaji Dawodu, Matt McCormick, and DJ Meel amongst others.
